General Fee Information
THE CALISTHENICS YEAR
The Calisthenics ‘year’ does not align with a calendar year, it runs from October until October.
The Calisthenics Association of South Australia (CASA) holds State Championships competitions from July until September annually. By beginning our year in October it gives our club members the maximum time to prepare for these competitions. As such our fee schedule also begins in October. Happy Valley Calisthenics has 4 quarters per year, based around school term dates:
Quarter 1: October – December (School Term 4)
Quarter 2: January – April (School Term 1)
Quarter 3: April – July (School Term 2)
Quarter 4: July – September (School Term 3)
*Please note due to Covid19, the 2020 competitive season has been extended until late November, 2020
At Happy Valley Calisthenics, we are completely transparent in regards to the breakdown for fees, most importantly there are NO HIDDEN COSTS associated with our fees, no hidden costume or dressmaker fees, no requirement to purchase clubs or rods. ALL fees and charges are outlined here, please see the relevant page for your team's fees from the menu listing above.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP FEE
This fee incorporates the compulsory Calisthenics Association of South Australia (CASA) annual registration fee, insurances, music copyright fees, Happy Valley Calisthenics Club registration and administration fees.- all of the "behind the scenes" costs that members don't usually see. In the interest of full fee disclosure, we have combined them all into one compulsory membership fee, so that the class tuition fees can be viewed as separate figures too.
For returning members the Club Membership fee is due with Quarter 1 lesson fees. For new club members, this fee must be paid by the 3rd lesson to comply with the school's and CASA's rules in regards to children being covered for public liability insurance. Failure to pay the membership fee will result in the club member not being allowed to train.
LESSON FEES
Lesson Fees are spread across the 4 quarters of the year, covering Tuition fees for coaching staff and Hall hire costs. Lesson Fees are due in week 3 of each quarter. Lessons run from October until December during Quarter 1, we break over the Summer holidays, then train weekly until the September School holidays.
COSTUME FEES
Happy Valley are extremely proud to boast that we are one of the only Clubs in SA that DO NOT require parents to sew, sequin, decorate or purchase costumes for stage competitions. With over 40 years of heritage at the Club as well as two experienced dress-makers, we have an extensive wardrobe of stunning costumes across all sections that caters for all our needs. The Costume fee also covers the hire of shoes, clubs, rods, practice skirts, Tots and Tinies Club Jackets and Competition Make-up.
COMPETITION FEES
The Competition fees cover all costs associated with registering and entering the CASA State Championships. This covers the charges from CASA for every performance entered, and the additional Sunday practices prior to competitions.
SKILLS, SOLO, DUO AND GRACEFUL GIRL FEES
There are additional fees to sit Skills Exams, or compete in Solo, Duo or Graceful Girl Competitions. Please feel free to discuss this with the coaches if you are interested in participating. As per the team competitions, the club provides everything required to compete. There is no requirement for parents to source or pay for expensive individual costumes.
SPORTS VOUCHERS
The Sports Vouchers program is a Governmentof South Australia initiative administered by the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing. The program provides an opportunity for primary school aged children from Reception toYear 7 to receive up to a $100 discount on sports, swimming or dance membership / registration fees. The purpose is to increase the number of children playing organised sport by reducing cost as a barrier.
All South Australian Primary School aged children, ie Reception to Year 7, even if Year 7 is based at High School are eligible to apply for a $100 Sports Voucher. There is a limitation of only 1 voucher can be claimed per child, per calander year.
If claiming the 2020 Sports Voucher, please complete the voucher at the beginning of Quarter 2 (February 2020). Once completed and returned to the club, a $100 credit will be given on the invoice towards the first Costume and Competition fee (due 28 March, 2020)
FUNDRAISING LEVY
Fundraising is a vital part of our club, the funds raised go towards buying presents for the club members when appearing on stage, and towards end of year trophies and other costs involved, such as props. It is vital ever club member is involved in fundraising, as it is not fair for a child to receive the proceeds of fundraising, without first contributing.
We understand that not everyone enjoys fundraising, or has a network that makes this an easy task. As such we have an optional fundraising levy.
If you wish to opt in at the beginning of the year, we will add a $50.00 fundraising levy to you fees, and you will NOT be required to contribute or participate in ANY of the clubs fundraisers.
However, we will also be monitoring who does and does not contribute to fundraisers, and if you have not contributed to any of the clubs fundraisers by the beginning of quarter 4 (July 2020), a $60 fundraising levy will be added to Quarter 4 fees (or August & September Instalment Payments)
LATE FEES
All fees are specified with due dates, if these due dates are not adhered to, there will be a 10% late fee incurred. We are happy to accept instalment payments if necessary, please see Tina Lindsay to discuss further.
CLUB UNIFORM
All club members from Sub-Juniors age up (8 years) are required to purchase a club uniform to wear to competitions. To make this cost effective for members, the only uniform item that must be purchased is the club jacket (approx $90). The jacket is worn with plain black leggings to competitions. This order is organised during Quarter 2 of the year. Club members have the option to also purchase a club polo shirt which is regularly worn to events or training during warmer weather.
As younger club members grow too quickly to warrant purchasing a uniform, their club jacket hire fee is included in their costume fee.
CLUB MERCHANDISE
Happy Valley Calisthenics Club has a wide range of merchandise available to order, such as personalised dancewear (leggings, shorts, leotards, crossovers, singlets), clubs & aesthetics practice skirt bags, rod holders, headbands, supporter tops, car stickers and bows.
